Custom Glazed Pieces

Again, two pieces on this page. Both of these pieces are the bone china mini "Flying Friesian" sculpted by the uber talented Donna Chaney of England, and produced by Alchemy Ceramics in open edition bisques. I have glazed this first piece to a black leopard appaloosa with very intricate mottling and pink skin underneath (where of course my camera couldn't photo it well) and with haloed spots in a satin glaze. The piece also has a yellowish stained mane and tail, and also sports a very nice "shadow" pattern of a blanket. I'm not too happy with how my photos of each of these two pieces came out, alas. The leopard appaloosa now resides in the collection of Kristina McKinney.

This second "Flying Friesian" ceramic has been custom glazed by myself to a high gloss finished roany black semi-leopard appaloosa. I had hoped to do this piece to keep, but as usual, finances dictated letting him go to a new home. He is now proudly owned and shown by Julie Baily of Indiana. The last photo below features him at his first live show debute at "Meows and Minis Live 2007" in September of the year. There this piece was awarded 1st place in the "Custom Glazed by Other than Owner" class and then went on to take Reserve Champion of his custom glaze Division! Good job!
